Created in January 1991 with the mission of providing paper products for professional hygiene and cleaning, it quickly solidified its presence in the national market and is today a reference also at an international level.

With a policy of continuous investment in quality, technology and optimization of the means and production processes to respond with great flexibility and efficiency to the needs of each client, SOCIGENE has adapted to market conditions and consolidated its permanent growth since its foundation.

In order to consolidate the entire business and allow it to embrace new challenges, SOCIGENE has become the Group’s holding company since 2016 and assumes itself as one of the major employers in the central region of Portugal and has a human capital of approximately 300 employees in all its companies.

Founded in 1999 with the aim of transforming part of the products marketed by Socigene, Trevipapel has evolved from a small company, consolidating its activity and becoming one of the main manufacturers of professional hygiene products (AfH) in Portugal.

Headquartered in Lousã, but with its eyes set on the world, the manufacturing units strategically located in the center of the country, guarantee the supply of the entire national territory and the export of its Joker brand products also to Spain, Central Europe, Africa and South America.

With a strong specialization in hygiene and cleaning products, both domestically and professionally, Trevipapel follows the main demands of the market, always maintaining its quality standards.

Created in 2002, Moviestrada was born out of the need to centralize all the logistical transport activities of the Socigene Group.

With a varied fleet of heavy vehicles, the Group ensures greater flexibility and a better delivery time and quality control of all operations within the scope of the national market until delivery to the customer.

paperprime

Created in 2016, Paper Prime was born with the aim of dedicating itself to the production of Tissue Paper reels and allowing the Socigene Group to integrate all operations from the supply of raw material to the manufacture of finished product and respective delivery to its customers.

Installed in the industrial cluster of Vila Velha de Rodão and receiving pure pulp via pipeline, it verticalizes the entire Socigene Group’s production process, eliminating waste between the different stages of manufacture in addition to savings in terms of energy costs.

Paper Prime has implemented and certified since 2017 a quality management system in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard and in 2018 obtained the FSC – Forest Steward Council certification. Ensuring production in quantity and quality in the genesis of the Socigene Group’s value chain, Paper Prime closes the cycle that allows perfect control of all raw materials used in the manufacture of its products and guaranteeing the Group’s self-sustainability, increasing the entire your value chain.

In this sense and having as a guiding principle the availability of a quality product at the best price, through an efficient and responsible management that ensures the protection of the environment, the Trevipapel Administration is committed to:

·         Provide the operational, logistical and it-set means necessary to meet customer needs and improve the implemented Management System.

·         Promote process management from an integrated perspective and optimization of processes and operative modes, taking into account the organizational context and risk assessment, ensuring the identification and fulfillment of compliance obligations.

·         Achieve sustained growth, considering market requirements and identification of new business/market areas, through decision-making based on risk assessment.

·         Encourage the development of individual skills, fostering the acquisition of knowledge.

·         Comply with FSC® values, implement and maintain all the requirements of the Chain of Responsibility, in accordance with the normative framework, and declares that it is not directly or indirectly involved in the following activities:

o   Illegal extraction of timber or trade in illegal timber or forest products;

o   Violation of traditional and human rights in forestry operations;

o   Significant conversion of forests to plantations or non-forest use;

o   Introduction of genetically modified organisms in forestry operations;

o   Violation of any of the Fundamental Conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO), as defined in the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work of 1998.

In this context, it ensures the implementation and consolidation of the fundamental requirements of FSC’s® work through the following actions:

§  Does not use child labor;

§  Eliminates all forms of forced and compulsory labor;

§  Ensures non-discrimination in employment;

§  It respects the freedom of associativism and collective bargaining.
